Roman House on the Caelian Hill
This project will yield a diachronic, digital model of the architecture and finds for this site and two others. The georeferenced, scaled 3D model will be a tool to visually record, analyse, and study how the building, its finds, and interior decor have changed over time.
House of Marcus Lucretius in Pompeii
In the summer of 2017, my team completed the first round of digitisation of the house itself. In the summer of 2018, we completed another round of digitisation of the finds and the sculpture from the garden. Please see the initial results of these campaigns below.
Villa Ludovisi in Rome
The project aimed to digitize the Casino dell’Aurora, its immediate surrounding gardens, and the sculpture in the Palazzo Altemps. The project was the topic of a paper for the College Art Association and saw the creation of a related scientific, free website offering access to 3D models. The art historical aspect of the project will centre around the reception of the grotesque in the early modern period.
Minturnae in Central Italy
This project aims to create a digital catalogue for fragmentary terracotta finds in storage on-site, restore them digitally, and recontexualise them within the ancient architectural display. 3D data capture included creating models of the finds, a 3D model of the site, and reconstruction models of the ancient architecture.
Oplontis in the Bay of Naples

Uffizi Project in Florence
The Virtual World Heritage Laboratory (VWHL), based in in the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing, in collaboration with partners at the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Florence, will undertake the 3D digitization of the complete collection of Greek and Roman sculpture in the Uffizi, Pitti Palace, and Boboli Gardens on behalf of the Gallerie Degli Uffizi. Totaling some 1,250 works of art, it is the third-largest collection of its kind in an Italian state museum.
Roman Portrait Project (Emory / IU)
The Virtual World Heritage Laboratory (VWHL), based in in the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing, will undertake the 3D digitization of the complete collection of Roman portraits in the campus museums at Emory and IU.
